NXPO and KMUTT launch STI Policy Design Course Year 3

NXPO, in collaboration with Science Technology and Innovation Policy Institute (STIPI) of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), held an opening ceremony of STI Policy Design Course on 1 February 2021. Marching into its 3rd year, the annual course aims at developing capacity of personnel working in higher education, science, research and innovation system and strengthening the STI policy network for future knowledge exchange and collaboration. 

The 20-week course covers fundamental principles of policy making process and emerging trends such as social science research, young generation and an open society, and enculturation of research and innovation, all taught by a wide range of experts who have hands-on experience in driving the national policy agenda. To comply with the government’s social distancing measure, the course will be delivered in a “hybrid learning” format —a mix of in-person and online instruction as well as distance learning on a learning platform accessible anytime, anywhere through the website www.STIPIacademy.com. Changes introduced this year also include three-stage course evaluation, ie. pre-, during- and post- assessments and mentoring system. 

This year enrollment is 56 coming from 11 organizations including NXPO, the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), Thai Young Scientists Academy (TYSA), KMUTT, Science Park Promotion Agency (SPA), National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), Program Management Unit for Area-based Development (PMU-A), Program Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B) and Program Management Unit for National Competitiveness Enhancement (PMU-C).
