NXPO joins Thai Delegation at SB64

วันที่เผยแพร่ 18 June 2026

Assoc. Prof. Wongkot Wongsapai, Vice President of NXPO, and Dr. Saravanee Singtong, Director of the Sustainability Policy Division, joined the Thai delegation in participating in the 64th Sessions of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies (SB64), along with related meetings, held in Bonn, Germany, from 7–14 June 2026. NXPO currently serves as Thailand’s National Designated Entity (NDE Thailand) for climate technology development and transfer under the UNFCCC mechanism.

In its role as NDE Thailand, NXPO was responsible for matters relating to technology development and transfer, including the Joint Annual Report of the Technology Executive Committee and the Climate Technology Centre and Network, as well as the review of efforts to strengthen linkages between the financial and technology mechanisms. In addition, representatives from NXPO and the Department of Climate Change and Environment participated in the Third Working Group Session of the Facilitative, Multilateral Consideration of Progress (FMCP3) alongside delegates from 37 countries. The session served as an important platform for exchanging views and improving the quality of the first Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) prepared under the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF). Thailand highlighted its efforts to strengthen national greenhouse gas inventory reporting to ensure greater accuracy, transparency, and effectiveness, in support of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

In addition, Assoc. Prof. Wongkot participated in a roundtable discussion on protein diversification organized by the United Nations Foundation. The session brought together representatives from invited countries, including Ghana, Denmark, Norway, The Gambia, and Brazil. Discussions focused on sharing national approaches to advancing protein diversification and exploring the possibility of establishing a Protein Diversification Coalition to promote international cooperation in developing and transferring knowledge on protein diversification as a strategy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting future Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
