NXPO joins a public-private partnership pact to promote circular economy

วันที่เผยแพร่ 5 November 2020

On 26 October 2020, NXPO Vice President Dr. Kanchana Wanichkorn participated in the virtual signing ceremony of a pact aiming to promote the concept and practices of circular economy in order to help mitigate climate change and enable sustainable growth. Joined by over 30 organizations representing public and private enterprises, the pact will take actions on waste recycling and formulation of “Circular Economy Guiding Principles”. The parties plan to collect and recycle/upcycle at least 500 tons of garbage – recyclable materials and organic wastes – from Pathum Wan and Ratchaprasong areas in Bangkok, as well as analyze data to formulate policy recommendations and circular economy guiding principles.

The group will also raise public awareness on the circular thinking to promote responsible production and consumption among residents through campaigns organized for homes, schools and temples. Public education on waste separation will be extensively made and systems – including an establishment of drop-off points and recycle collection centers – will be set up to facilitate the recycle/upcycle activities. Information on the amount and types of wastes will be compiled and analyzed to support the formulation of policy recommendations and guidelines, as well as the co-creation of appropriate technology and innovation. This project will start on 1 December 2020 and last until 31 December 2021.
