Development of dual-use technology roadmap

NXPO hosted a workshop to develop a roadmap for dual-use technology on 23 July 2020. Dual-use technology roadmap is a collaborative action of NXPO; the Defence Science and Technology Department; Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) and National Security and Dual-Use Technology Center of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), aiming to develop and maximize the utilization of technologies and innovations that have both military and civilian applications for the benefit of national security, economy and society. The workshop was co-chaired by Pol. Lt. Gen. Piya Utayo, Assistant Commissioner of the National Police and Lt. Gen. Kongcheep Tantawanich, Director-General of the Defence Science and Technology Department.

A number of presentations were made at the workshop to provide attendees with understanding of current status of industrial sector, research sector and users. The presentations were invited from the Defence Industry and Energy Centre, Research Department of the Royal Thai Police, the Industry for National Defense and Security Association and NSTDA’s National Security and Dual-Use Technology Center. The brainstorming session discussed the trend and goal of dual-use technology industry, products and services, as well as technology, production process, research agenda and supporting mechanisms.
