On 11 August 2023, NXPO Vice President Ms. Ratima Urthamapimuk participated in the inaugural ceremony of the National Science and Technology Fair 2023. This year’s fair embraced the theme “For Bright and Creative Generations”, with the goal to promote the integration of science, technology, innovation and art to drive the creative economy, in line with the Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) model. The opening ceremony was officiated by Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Don Pramudwinai and H.E. Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. 

Ms. Ratima Urthamapimuk unveiled details of Kids Creative Station, an exhibition organized by NXPO. Kids Creative Station invited children to learn about the creative economy – which represents an economic system based on knowledge creation, innovative thinking, and intellectual property derived from culture, local wisdom, technology, and innovation – through displays and fun activities such as coaster painting and quiz show.  

The National Science and Technology Fair 2023 took place from 11 to 20 August 2023 at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center. Highlights of the event included: 1) “Royal Pavilion”, a tribute to King Vajiralongkorn and the Royal Family for their contributions to science, technology and education in Thailand; 2) “Deadly Traps” showcasing predatory plants and their vital role in the ecosystem; 3) “Fascination of Filmmaking” presenting a journey through the world of filmmaking; 4) “Secret of Thai Flavors” telling a story of Thai robust agricultural activities and culinary arts; and 5) “Beauty and Me” unlocking the secrets of beauty with science, technology, engineering, arts and innovation.
