APEC CTF APPOINTED AS PANELIST AT “Opening Green Windows” EVENT HOSTED BY UNCTAD, UNESCAP AND ITD

On 18 May 2023, Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat, Executive Director of APEC Center for Technology Foresight (APEC CTF) and Vice President of NXPO, has been invited to participate as a panelist at the event titled “Opening Green Windows: Technological opportunities for a low-carbon world in Asia and the Pacific”. The event jointly organized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), and the International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD), Ministry of Commerce, Thailand, is set take place at the United Nations Conference Center, Bangkok. The event aims to explore technological solutions and strategies for achieving a low-carbon future and provide a platform to delve into the key findings and insights of the “UNCTAD Technology Innovation Report 2023”.

NXPO’s involvement as an NDE under the UNFCCC allows it to effectively coordinate and implement projects that promote technology transfer, capacity building, and knowledge sharing. Dr. Surachai emphasized the importance of leveraging NXPO’s expertise and experience to identify and showcase successful initiatives that have already demonstrated positive outcomes in terms of sustainability and low-carbon development.

As the panel discussion concluded, Dr. Surachai’s contributions served to inspire the audience, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing in achieving sustainable development goals. His endorsement of NXPO’s role in facilitating technology transfer projects further underscored the organization’s potential to drive positive change and propel the country and region towards a greener, low-carbon future.
