Launching of Digital Marketer Hackathon 2023 to boost cross border e-commerce for Lancang-Mekong Cooperation

The launching of Digital Marketer Hackathon 2023: Go Global with Cross Border E-Commerce Platform took place on 24 February 2023. Organized by the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI) of Chiang Mai University, the event is part of the Strengthening Entrepreneurs in Lancang-Mekong for Route Number 1 Innovation Corridor Development Project, aiming to enhance skills of digital marketers and social influencers for cross border e-commerce. 

MHESI Minister Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas provided a video message offering his congratulations. He stated that this project will not only improve the cross-border trade capacity of entrepreneurs, but also energize the economic growth by promoting innovation and establishing a trade, investment and service hub for entrepreneurs.

In his welcome remarks, Chiang Mai University Vice President Asst. Prof. Dr. Tanyanuparb Anantana said that this project demonstrates the commitment of Chiang Mai University to foster international collaboration in research and education, which is the key to the development in this fast-paced world driven by digital technology. 

Presided over the launching was NXPO President Dr. Kitipong Promwong who remarked that this project is built upon the previous collaboration between NXPO and ICDI in a policy study for the development of Route Number 1 Innovation Corridor. The study revealed the vital role of innovation-driven enterprises (IDEs) in boosting the regional economy. This project will therefore support the development of IDEs and strengthen an innovation ecosystem for cross-border trade and investment.

Among guests of honor attending the event were Mr. Wiraphong Rhitrot, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Province; Mr. Wu Zhiwu, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Chiang Mai; Ms. Nabhasporn Bhuttarichval, Consul-General of Royal Thai Consulate-General in Qingdao, Mr. Shen Sunan, Chairman of ASEAN Innovation and Development Promotion Association; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chotchai Charoenngam Board Chairman of Rail Technology Research and Development Agency; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, ICDI Dean.
