As the host of the APEC Center for Technology Foresight (APEC CTF), NXPO participated in the 23rd APEC Policy Partnership on Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI) Meeting held from 28-29 February 2024 in Lima, Peru.
During the meeting, Dr. Srichattra Chaivongvilan, Senior Policy Specialist at NXPO, presented a report on the self-funded APEC Science Technology and Innovation Strategic Foresight Project (Project Number: PPSTI 05 2023S). Implemented under the purview of PPSTI, the project aims to foster the development of science, technology, and innovation (STI) in the APEC region. Dr. Srichattra emphasized the importance of the net-zero emission goal, suggesting that it be prioritized in funding initiatives and incorporated into the PPSTI Strategic Plan. Close collaboration between APEC CTF and Perus was proposed to enhance the utilization of foresight techniques at both national and regional levels.
The PPSTI Meeting also featured a workshop where representatives from APEC economies deliberated on STI funding strategies to advance APEC’s key agendas.
