As Thailand attempts to transform into an innovation-driven economy in order to free itself from the middle-income trap, manpower development, especially in STEM, is extremely vital. NXPO initiated STEMLAB in 2017 as a collaboration between NXPO and two Princess Chulabhorn Science High Schools in Pathum Thani and Chonburi provinces aiming to set up a laboratory in which students can exercise their creativity and innovation skills. STEMLAB is fully equipped with necessary tools such as electronic instrument and 3D printer and staffed with engineers to enable students to design and create innovations.  

A new collaboration between NXPO and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang has recently been launched to expand STEMLAB to 25 schools and lab curriculum to cover new frontier in space, artificial intelligence and quantum technology. This new initiative will be generously funded by the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Research and Development Fund for Public Interest.
