On 26 November 2025, NXPO, in collaboration with Leave a Nest from Japan and VISUP from Thailand, organized the “Tech Venture Meetup in Thailand 2025” at NXPO Headquarters. The event brought together startups, investors, and partner organizations from both countries to strengthen the deep tech innovation ecosystem.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Siriporn Pittayasophon, Vice President of NXPO, emphasized NXPO’s mission to design policies that harness higher education, science, research, and innovation to free Thailand from the middle-income trap. Central to this mission is the “1,000 x 1,000” target—to cultivate 1,000 innovation-driven enterprises (IDEs) capable of generating at least 1 billion THB in annual revenue. Achieving this vision requires building an innovation ecosystem that enables rapid scaling through strong collaboration among the private sector, government, academia, and international partners.

Dr. Siriporn added that the event demonstrates NXPO’s active role in advancing Thailand’s innovation landscape. Collaboration with advanced countries such as Japan will help open new opportunities for Thai startups—ranging from investment and technology access to market expansion. She also highlighted that NXPO has designed comprehensive funding mechanisms to support IDEs across the entire value chain: from upstream talent development through the Program Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B) to competitiveness enhancement and commercialization through the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMU-C) and the National Innovation Agency (NIA). Together, these mechanisms ensure coordinated, end-to-end support for startups at every growth stage.

Key event highlights included pitching sessions by deep tech startups from Japan and Thailand, covering a wide range of technologies such as food, health, medical innovation, electric vehicles, and energy. Panel discussions—“Building the Thai Deep Tech Funding Culture” and “Combining Two Cultures to Create a Stronger Deep Tech Community”—brought together leaders from partner organizations to share insights on accelerating Thailand’s deep tech innovation toward global competitiveness.

The Tech Venture Meetup in Thailand 2025 represents a significant step in strengthening innovation collaboration between Thailand and Japan, while expanding access for Thai enterprises to international networks and funding opportunities.
