MHESI-NXPO and NIA co-host stakeholder consultation to develop innovation enterprise database

วันที่เผยแพร่ 6 March 2026

On 4 March 2026, NXPO, in collaboration with the National Innovation Agency (NIA), organized a stakeholder consultation meeting to gather input for the development of a national innovation enterprise database. The meeting brought together representatives from more than 20 organizations across the public sector, academia, and the private sector.

Dr. Siriporn Pittayasophon, Vice President of NXPO, and Mr. Pariwat Wongsamran, Deputy Executive Director of NIA, delivered welcome remarks and outlined the background and objectives of the initiative. The project aims to establish a centralized platform for collecting and linking data on innovation enterprises across the country to support the design of targeted policies and support measures, while strengthening the monitoring and evaluation of Thailand’s science, research, and innovation system. The initiative will involve establishing common standards for data collection and integration across relevant agencies, as well as developing analytical tools and data visualization systems to generate deeper insights for evidence-based policymaking and the systematic development of innovation-driven enterprises. During the meeting, NXPO presented the concept and proposed directions for developing the national database, including the integration of key data sources from both public and private sectors to analyze trends in innovation-driven businesses and support national policy formulation.

The consultation provided an opportunity for participating organizations to exchange views on several key issues, including the current status and readiness of data held by different agencies, potential applications of the data to support organizational missions, as well as possible models for data integration and governance mechanisms. These discussions aim to ensure that the database can be effectively utilized in practice while fostering stronger collaboration among stakeholders within Thailand’s innovation ecosystem. Participants broadly agreed on the importance of establishing a comprehensive innovation enterprise database. Several recommendations were proposed for further consideration, including ensuring compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), creating incentives for enterprises to voluntarily share data, integrating existing databases from both public and private organizations, and leveraging appropriate technologies to enable efficient data integration. Several organizations also expressed their readiness to collaborate in data sharing, with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) expected to be developed to formalize the framework for cooperation in the next phase.
