On 20 February 2026, Dr. Kommate Jitvanichphaibool, Senior Director of Strategic Foresight and Futures Studies Division at NXPO, delivered a special lecture for the Strategic Intelligence Training Course organized by the Office of Security.

In his lecture, titled “Strategic Foresight and the Role of MHESI in the New Intelligence Era: From Threat Response to Designing Strategic Advantage,” Dr. Kommate underscored the importance of integrating higher education, science, research, and innovation with security challenges—spanning economic, social, technological, and environmental domains. He emphasized that the ability to anticipate future developments is a critical component of effective public policy formulation and strategic management in an era marked by global uncertainty.

Dr. Kommate also highlighted the application of foresight tools to support the analysis of emerging trends and risks that may affect the country in the medium to long term, including rapid technological advancements, evolving threat landscapes, and intensifying global competition in innovation. He further outlined policy approaches to advancing higher education and science through collaborative mechanisms among government agencies, the private sector, and academic institutions, with the aim of strengthening national resilience.

NXPO’s contribution to the program reflects its ongoing role in supporting the development of strategic and security-oriented human capital. Through the exchange of policy perspectives and the practical application of foresight methodologies, the session helped enhance participants’ strategic analytical capabilities.
