On 13 March 2026, Assoc. Prof. Wongkot Wongsapai, Vice President of NXPO, welcomed a delegation from the Futures Studies Center of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), led by Ms. Athirat Suwannalert. The meeting aimed to advance collaboration in strategic information exchange, situation assessment, and the development of mechanisms to strengthen evidence-based and data-driven policymaking.

Discussions centered on enhancing cooperation in key areas, particularly the integration of data systems and the development of early warning signal scanning platforms to better respond to global uncertainties. Both sides also emphasized the importance of strengthening capabilities in predictive analysis and foresight/futures studies to support policy decisions.
In addition, the two agencies explored collaboration under the Thailand Foresight Alliance framework, a national platform that connects core agencies and partner networks to facilitate systematic exchange of foresight-related data, analytical tools, and knowledge. The initiative also seeks to build human resource capacity in strategic analysis, data-informed decision-making, and the formulation of policy recommendations aligned with evolving future scenarios.

The meeting further provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on major trends in science, technology, and innovation, as well as key economic, social, and geopolitical dynamics that may shape Thailand’s development trajectory. Both parties discussed the possibility of joint activities to strengthen competencies in data analytics, forecasting, and the application of strategic foresight tools.
