On 2 December 2025, NXPO and the APEC Center for Technology Foresight (APEC CTF) welcomed a delegation from the APEC Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP) in Korea, led by Prof. Jaehyung Jeon, Executive Director of APCTP. The visit aimed to review progress under the APEC Policy Partnership on Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI) and explore opportunities to expand future collaboration.

Representing NXPO and APEC CTF were Assoc. Prof. Wongkot Wongsapai, Vice President of NXPO, and Dr. Kommate Jitvanichphaibool, Deputy Director of APEC CTF. The meeting featured an exchange of policy perspectives and academic insights related to theoretical physics in the context of Thailand and the APEC region.
Discussions centered on linking theoretical physics expertise with foresight processes and science, technology and innovation policy design to support regional structural transitions. The two parties also explored potential joint initiatives, including research collaborations, workshops, young researcher networks, and knowledge-sharing platforms within the APEC framework.
Both sides agreed that strengthened cooperation between APEC CTF and APCTP will enhance deep scientific capabilities while advancing futures analysis. This partnership will help APEC member economies harness theoretical physics knowledge to formulate policies that effectively address emerging regional challenges. The two organizations will continue working together to advance collaborative activities in the next phase.
