MHESI-NXPO and Thaksin University join capacity building program in Japan to advance startup development

วันที่เผยแพร่ 30 September 2025

The delegation from NXPO and Thaksin University participated in the Capacity Building Program for Technology Startup Development through Holding Company Networks, held in Fukuoka, Japan, from 25–29 September 2025. The program was organized under the partnership between Thaksin University and the University of Kitakyushu. The delegation was led by Ms. Manunya Chunhavuthiyanon, Director of Innovation Policy for Entrepreneurship Development at NXPO; Ms. Supak Virunhakarun, Director of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts at NXPO; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Samak Kaewsuksaeng, Vice President for Research and Innovation at Thaksin University; and Assoc. Prof. Dr.Suttiporn Bunmak, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Learning at Thaksin University.

The program aimed to strengthen knowledge of Japan’s startup ecosystem, particularly in Fukuoka and Kitakyushu. Fukuoka, designated as a National Strategic Special Zone for Global Startups & Job Creation, provides an enabling environment for both domestic and international startups, while Kitakyushu is recognized as a hub of universities and research institutes that play a pivotal role in technology transfer and industry collaboration.

Program highlights included visits and exchanges with leading institutions such as Kyushu University, Kyushu Institute of Technology, and the University of Kitakyushu, along with discussions with local entrepreneurs on research-based business development strategies. The program also featured a Business Pitch and Startup Showcase, where startups from Thaksin University presented their innovations and products to potential Japanese partners. These sessions generated strong interest, particularly in projects addressing social innovation and community needs.

This initiative reflects the active collaboration between NXPO and Thaksin University in strengthening Thailand’s University Holding Company ecosystem to support innovation-driven enterprises. It also advances international cooperation in networking, investment, and market expansion—marking another important step in enhancing the global competitiveness of Thailand’s innovation ecosystem.
