On 20 August 2025, NXPO participated in a workshop under the Excellence Center Program, hosted by the Medical Engineering Division, Department of Health Service Support. The event brought together executives, staff, and prototype developers supported by the program, serving as a platform for knowledge exchange and advancing innovations toward real-world applications and future business opportunities.
Ms. Manunya Chunhavuthiyanon, Director of Innovation Policy for Entrepreneurship Development at NXPO, delivered a presentation on policies that promote investment in medical technology and access to funding. She outlined strategic goals for building an innovation-driven economy, including raising research and innovation investment to 2% of GDP, establishing 1,000 IDEs (Innovation-Driven Enterprises) each generating an average annual revenue of 1 billion THB, and creating at least seven Thai unicorns.
She also highlighted key policies and measures spearheaded by NXPO to strengthen the national innovation ecosystem, such as the University Holding Company mechanism, the E-Commercial and Innovation Platform (ECIP), and intermediary networks.
In addition, Ms. Manunya presented financial measures and incentives from various agencies, including the Innovation List, Competitiveness Enhancement Fund, Innovation One Fund, and TEDFund. She also underscored regulatory and fiscal enablers such as the Technology and Innovation Utilization Promotion (TRIUP) Act and the Thailand Plus Package.
The presentation emphasized NXPO’s role as a national policy agency in fostering collaboration among government, private sector, and academia to build an innovation ecosystem that drives entrepreneurship and enhances Thailand’s long-term competitiveness.
