วันที่เผยแพร่ 15 August 2025

On 14 August 2025, NXPO, in collaboration with the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC) of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), held a public hearing on the Draft Thailand Nanotechnology Research and Development Roadmap 2028–2032. The event took place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center as part of the MHESI Fair 2025: SCI POWER FOR FUTURE THAILAND.

Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat, President of NXPO, delivered the welcome remarks and outlined the objectives of the roadmap. Prof. Dr. Sirirurg Songsivilai, Chairman of the National Commission on Science, Research and Innovation and Chair of the NANOTEC Executive Board, gave the opening address, while Dr. Uracha Ruktanonchai, Executive Director of NANOTEC, highlighted the center’s past achievements.

The roadmap is designed to strengthen Thailand’s science, research, and innovation ecosystem through a foresight-driven process that incorporates input from research institutes, universities, the private sector, and government agencies. It aims to translate research outcomes into commercial products and societal benefits, focusing on four priority areas:

  • Nano for Advanced and High-Quality Healthcare
  • Nano for Green Technology & Climate Change Solutions
  • Nano for Smart and Sustainable Agrifood
  • Nano Safety & Nano Ethics

The public hearing also featured panel discussions, giving stakeholders an opportunity to provide further input on these priority areas. The roadmap has been developed under an MOU between NXPO and NANOTEC, drawing on insights from two workshops and a public consultation to ensure wide participation and produce a comprehensive plan that addresses the nation’s needs.
