MHESI-NXPO highlights IDE policy directions at IDE DAY 2025

วันที่เผยแพร่ 16 August 2025

On 13 August 2025, NXPO took part in IDE DAY 2025: Innovation Exchange, organized by the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC) as part of the MHESI Fair 2025: SCI POWER FOR FUTURE THAILAND at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

Representing NXPO, Dr. Karantarat Nakwa, Assistant to the President of NXPO, joined the panel discussion on unlocking IDE ecosystem. She presented NXPO’s vision and policy directions for advancing Thailand’s innovation-driven enterprise (IDE) ecosystem, aligning with national strategic goals that include increasing R&D investment to 2% of GDP, establishing 1,000 IDEs each generating an average of 1 billion THB in annual revenue, and creating at least seven Thai unicorns. The session also offered a platform to exchange experiences and policy insights aimed at strengthening the long-term growth of IDEs.

Dr. Karantarat outlined critical factors essential to IDE success, which include joint public–private investment, workforce development aligned with market demand, and greater access to markets and funding sources. She noted that NXPO is committed to serving as a connector across all sectors to foster a sustainable ecosystem. Based on policy reviews and recent government measures, NXPO observed that most initiatives currently emphasize supporting SMEs and early-stage startups—an essential driver for scaling IDEs, particularly in Thailand’s high-potential sectors such as agriculture and food, and the digital industry.

In addition to the policy discussions, IDE DAY 2025 featured keynote addresses and expert panels, case studies of successful IDEs, and networking opportunities to strengthen business linkages and support the expansion of Thai innovation enterprises into global markets.
