วันที่เผยแพร่ 6 May 2025

Dr. Saravanee Singtong, Director of the Sustainability Policy Division at NXPO, participated as a speaker in a panel discussion on “National and International Climate Commitment” held on 30 April 2025. The session was part of the training program “Toward a Low-Carbon Economy and Sustainable Climate Action”, organized by the Department of Climate Change and Environment (DCCE) in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Chulalongkorn University Energy Research Institute.

The program aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of climate policy frameworks at both the national and international levels while underscoring the importance of cross-sector collaboration in achieving climate targets. Joining Dr. Saravanee on the panel were Dr. Kittisak Prukkanone, Director of Strategy and International Cooperation at DCCE; Dr. Nareerat Thanakasem, Director of the Capacity Building and Outreach Office at the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO); and Mr. Pakawee Silpanon, Head of the Greenhouse Gas Management Division at the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).

In her remarks, Dr. Saravanee highlighted NXPO’s role as Thailand’s National Designated Entity (NDE) for climate technology development and transfer under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). She emphasized that NXPO acts as a key coordinator, facilitating both vertical and horizontal linkages to advance climate technology initiatives. Thailand has secured support for eight climate technology projects to date, making it the second-highest recipient of support among participating countries. Dr. Saravanee also underscored NXPO’s broader efforts in strengthening Thailand’s innovation system to enhance its absorptive capacity and ensure the effective adoption of climate technologies tailored to the country’s needs and context.
