NXPO participated in the APEC Workshop on Enhancement of Digital Literacy and Skills for APEC Women 2026,” held on 22–23 April 2026 in Beijing, China. The event was organized under the APEC Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy (PPWE) to strengthen digital skills among women in the Asia-Pacific region, reduce gender disparities in the digital economy, and expand access to career opportunities in a rapidly evolving economic landscape.

Ms. Panisa Harnpathananun, Senior Director of the Higher Education Innovation and Future Skills Development Division, presented Thailand’s approach to workforce development in support of the transition to a digital and green economy. She highlighted the importance of flexible and accessible learning systems, including community-based learning, digital learning platforms, and modular curricula that enable lifelong learning. She also emphasized the need for strong collaboration among government, industry, and educational institutions to co-develop skills that align with evolving industry demands.

Ms. Suthida Piriyakarnsakul, Senior Policy Specialist at NXPO, provided an overview of Thailand’s digital policy under the Thailand 4.0 framework. The policy prioritizes the development of digital infrastructure and workforce capabilities, alongside efforts to build trust in technology adoption. She noted that although Thai women generally have high levels of access to digital technologies, they continue to face constraints in translating these capabilities into meaningful career and income opportunities. Structural barriers—such as limited access to resources—remain a key challenge. She proposed approaches to better connect digital skills with employment and income generation, including hands-on training, support for women entrepreneurs, and policy measures tailored to local needs.

NXPO’s participation in this workshop underscores its role in advancing workforce and future skills policies at the international level, while promoting the use of digital technologies to empower women and foster sustainable economic growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
