วันที่เผยแพร่ 25 March 2026

On 25 March 2026, NXPO welcomed the delegates of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) for the annual organizational inspection. The NXPO team was led by Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat, President of NXPO, together with Vice Presidents Prof. Dr. Surin Khomfoi and Assoc. Prof. Wongkot Wongsapai, as well as Assistants to the President – Dr. Suchat Udomsopagit and Dr. Karantarat Nakwa.

NXPO then presented its organizational structure, vision, mission, and mandates, along with a summary of key achievements for the fiscal year 2025 and its operational plans for the ongoing fiscal year 2026. The agency’s work is guided by five main objectives: 1) Elevating Thailand out of the middle-income trap by increasing the number of innovation-driven enterprises through the scale-up platform to strengthen business capabilities in domestic and international markets, while also preparing for future industries; 2) Strengthening the grassroots economy and reducing social inequality through higher education, science, research and innovation; 3) Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 10 million tons of CO₂ equivalent by developing an enabling ecosystem to support Thailand’s net-zero transition; 4) Increasing the proportion of highly skilled workers by advancing high-competency workforce development platforms and driving university transformation; and 5) Enhancing the efficiency of the higher education, science, research and innovation system, with a focus on reforms in policymaking, budget allocation, regulatory and legal frameworks, and monitoring and evaluation.

Key initiatives for the fiscal year 2026 were highlighted. These include the development of the Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy and Strategy 2028–2032, adhering to the principles of Mission-Oriented Innovation Policy; the formulation of a strategy for the development of the semiconductor and advanced electronics industries (2026–2032); and proposals for 300% corporate income tax deductions for expenditures on research, technology, and innovation. Other flagship programs include the Net Zero Campus Program (Phase II), the promotion of green industries through the BCG Awards and Green Enterprises Indicators (GEI), as well as the reskill–upskill–newskill initiatives supported by the Thailand Plus Package and the BOI-STEM++ measures.
