{"id":8867,"date":"2021-09-14T11:03:08","date_gmt":"2021-09-14T04:03:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/?p=8867"},"modified":"2021-09-14T11:03:11","modified_gmt":"2021-09-14T04:03:11","slug":"mhesi-set-to-produce-20000-highly-skilled-stem-workers-annually-to-attract-foreign-investors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/en\/8867\/","title":{"rendered":"MHESI set to produce 20,000 highly skilled STEM workers annually to attract foreign investors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>NXPO President Dr.&nbsp;Kitipong&nbsp;Promwong&nbsp;recently revealed that Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) set a goal to produce 20,000 highly skilled STEM&nbsp;workers&nbsp;annually to supply to industry, as data has indicated that skilled&nbsp;workforce is one of the main factors attracting foreign investment in addition to infrastructure and investment privileges.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-5.jpeg\" alt=\"A person wearing a mask\n\nDescription automatically generated with medium confidence\" class=\"wp-image-8869\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-5.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-5-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-5-768x512.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve this target, MHESI Minister assigned the Council of Science Dean of Thailand and the&nbsp;Council of Engineering Deans of Thailand to lead the implementation, and NXPO and the MHESI Permanent Secretary Office to establish a one-stop-service platform to facilitate the matching of workforce demand by prospective foreign investors and student supply by the universities.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Information on workforce demand by foreign investors to be supplied by Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) will include&nbsp;the&nbsp;number of workers&nbsp;needed as well as&nbsp;their expertise and skills. This data will be matched with information on student enrollment in universities in Thailand already in MHESI system.
