The event aimed at&nbsp;initiating and fostering business collaboration among public and private enterprises in Thailand and Korea in the area of electric vehicles (EVs) and charging stations. Other speakers include experts from concerned Thai and Korean agencies such as the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), BOI, Thailand\u2019s Smart City Promotion Department, Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement, Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT), Ulsan University, and CEOs from Korean and Thai companies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"824\" height=\"462\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-6.png\" alt=\"Graphical user interface\n\nDescription automatically generated\" class=\"wp-image-8643 lazyload\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-6.png 824w, https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-6-300x168.png 300w, https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/image-6-768x431.png 768w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 824px) 100vw, 824px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 824px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 824\/462;\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr.&nbsp;Thanakarn&nbsp;presentation focuses on current&nbsp;programs&nbsp;that support&nbsp;joint&nbsp;projects.&nbsp;The Thai government has set the target of 20-25% greenhouse gas emission reduction&nbsp;by 2030, whereas the National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee&nbsp;aims to achieve&nbsp;a&nbsp;zero-emission vehicles (ZEV)&nbsp;production target of 30% of all new cars&nbsp;by 2030 with possible expansion to 100% by 2035.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve the targets, the Thai government is seeking collaboration with foreign partners in S&amp;T, translational research and commercialization of research and innovation, as well as strengthening the competitiveness of Thai SMEs and startups.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Financial support for research activities is available at the Program Management Unit for National Competitiveness Enhancement (PMU-C), one of&nbsp;the&nbsp;seven funding agencies in Thailand. PMU-C\u2019s&nbsp;funding&nbsp;programs that fit with this event are future&nbsp;mobility,&nbsp;robotics and&nbsp;automation;&nbsp;technology&nbsp;localization;&nbsp;and global&nbsp;partnership&nbsp;\u2013 supporting all aspects of collaboration from fundamental research to translational research and commercialization. Currently, EV research in Thailand covers parts and components, EV conversion and industrialization.
