This&nbsp;treatment&nbsp;method is found to be limited and, if operated inefficiently and without good standards, can potentially have negative effect on&nbsp;surrounding&nbsp;communities and the environment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"409\" height=\"613\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/image-3.png\" alt=\"A picture containing qr code\n\nDescription automatically generated\" class=\"wp-image-8194 lazyload\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/image-3.png 409w, https:\/\/www.nxpo.or.th\/th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/image-3-200x300.png 200w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 409px) 100vw, 409px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 409px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 409\/613;\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) has developed&nbsp;a 3-stage gasification process to&nbsp;treat&nbsp;non-medical waste&nbsp;and medical waste that has been autoclaved and convert&nbsp;to energy.&nbsp;Located at TISTR\u2019s&nbsp;Lamtakhong&nbsp;Research Station in Nakhon Ratchasima, the&nbsp;3-stage&nbsp;gasification&nbsp;demonstration&nbsp;plant has a daily capacity of 10 tons of waste&nbsp;and a 200kW electricity&nbsp;generation. Syngas produced from the gasification, consisting of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, can be used&nbsp;to generate electricity and heat.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;3-stage&nbsp;gasification&nbsp;for converting non-medical waste to electricity was conceptualized by TISTR in collaboration with&nbsp;Namwiwat&nbsp;Engineering (1992) Company Limited.
