On 27 October 2026, NXPO, Suan Dusit University, and the Siam Warodom Foundation signed an academic collaboration agreement for the \u201cPreparedness for Violence in Higher Education Institutions Project.\u201d The agreement was signed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Suppakorn Poonyarith, Vice President of NXPO; Asst. Prof. Dr. Pitauk Chancharoen, President of Suan Dusit University; and Dr. Budsara Wongraksak, Chairperson of the Siam Warodom Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n

The project aims to apply knowledge, research, and innovation to address critical social issues. By analyzing risk data and lessons learned from previous experiences, the partners will develop policy recommendations, preventive measures, emergency communication and monitoring systems, and mental health support mechanisms tailored to the needs of higher education institutions. The project also seeks to raise awareness and strengthen institutional preparedness through systematic guidelines for responding to violent incidents. These efforts will help foster a culture of physical and psychological safety, reduce risks, mitigate the impacts of unexpected events, and create a supportive environment for learning, working, and personal development across university communities.<\/p>\n\n\n

In his remarks, Asst. Prof. Dr. Suppakorn emphasized NXPO\u2019s role in supporting academic work and serving as the secretariat of the National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council (Policy Council). NXPO also develops policies and systemic recommendations to ensure that the country’s higher education, science, research, and innovation system responds effectively to changes in the economy and society and contributes to improving people’s quality of life, particularly through workforce development. He highlighted the importance of strengthening the capacity of university personnel and students to prepare for and respond to potential violent incidents. This effort supports the development of a higher education system that produces a skilled, resilient workforce capable of navigating an increasingly complex and risk-prone society. A physically and psychologically safe learning environment enables students, faculty members, and university personnel to realize their full potential, build the knowledge and understanding needed to help prevent violence, and prepare to contribute meaningfully to the country’s workforce across professional fields.<\/p>\n\n\n
