Dr. Saravanee Singtong, Director of the Sustainability Policy Division at NXPO, recently participated in the Thai-German Conference: Climate Talks 2026, jointly organized by the German Embassy Bangkok and the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce. The conference brought together representatives from government agencies, research and higher education institutions, and industry from both countries to exchange perspectives on the circular economy, energy security, and green finance, while strengthening collaborative networks in these areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference was officially opened by Dr. Ernst Wolfgang Reichel, Ambassador of Germany to Thailand. In his remarks, he underscored the importance of assessing Thailand\u2019s renewable energy potential, highlighting the country\u2019s strengths in thermal, wind, and hydropower technologies. He also emphasized opportunities to deepen Thai-German cooperation in strategic energy sectors, including green hydrogen, electric vehicles, advanced EV charging infrastructure, and industrial-scale smart grid systems.<\/p>\n\n\n

At the conference, Dr. Saravanee moderated the panel discussion \u201cFrom Waste to Value: Circular Economy Driving Climate Protection and Business Opportunities.\u201d The session featured distinguished speakers including Mr. Sirichai Tempoomsuk, Chief Financial Officer of Oryx Stainless (Thailand); Mr. Tobias Fabian Huinink, Business Director Asia, ALBA Group Asia; Dr. Stephane Bertaux, Regional Sustainability Manager Asia and Head of Brand Owner Collaboration, Southeast Asia, Siegwerk (Thailand); and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kannika Khwamsawat from the Center of Excellence on Hazardous Substance Management, Chulalongkorn University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion offered perspectives on technologies and solutions from organizations and industries with diverse backgrounds. The panelists shared a common view that a supportive ecosystem is essential for accelerating circular economy implementation. In particular, they emphasized the need for enabling regulatory and legal frameworks that facilitate the implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n
