On 18 January 2025, Ms. Manunya Chunhavuthiyanon, Director of Innovation Ecosystem for Enhancing Capability of Enterprises Division at NXPO, participated in the launch of the Thai Startup Business Directory at the Stock Exchange of Thailand. This initiative, developed by the Thai Startup Association (Thai Startup) with support from the Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF), marks a significant step in fostering the growth of startups in Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n

At the event, Ms. Manunya served as a speaker in a seminar discussing the directory\u2019s role in empowering businesses. She was joined by representatives from the Department of Business Development, the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), and the National Innovation Agency (NIA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Manunya emphasized the Thai Startup Directory’s crucial role in supporting policy development. She highlighted its use in designing policy measures to bolster the startup ecosystem, aligning research funding with startup trends and technological advancements, and formulating tech talent policies by identifying the skills needed in the startup sector. The directory provides valuable insights to policymakers, government agencies, and universities, bridging gaps and facilitating the growth of startups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Manunya also outlined NXPO’s contributions to nurturing the Thai startup ecosystem, recognizing startups as pivotal in transforming Thailand into a high-income nation. NXPO\u2019s key initiatives include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Workforce Development: Introducing tax incentives for enterprises hiring high-skilled talent and investing in employee skill development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Financial Support Mechanisms: Launching the Innovation One and promoting the University Holding Company (UHC) mechanism. Innovation One, a public-private fund created by NXPO and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), supports startups and is managed by the Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) and FTI. UHCs facilitate the commercialization of university research and support joint ventures and resource allocation for startups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Legislation: Enacting a law to promote the utilization of research and innovation, addressing intellectual property rights issues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Mentoring Mechanism: Developing a comprehensive database of local and international experts to mentor startups. This resource has been handed over to Thai Startup for further use.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
