On 3 July 2024, MHESI-NXPO, in collaboration with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), hosted the STIP Compass: Thailand Awareness Webinar. The event aimed to raise awareness among stakeholders in Thailand about the resourceful platform containing science, technology, and innovation policies from various nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his opening remarks, Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat, Senior Strategist and Acting Vice President of NXPO, emphasized the importance of data-driven policy development process. He noted that the inclusion of Thailand\u2019s STI policy in the European Commission-OECD Science, Technology and Innovation Policies (STIP) Compass would expand opportunities for policy exchange and collaboration with other countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the testimonial session, moderated by NXPO Senior Policy Specialist Ms. Vipaporn Asavapisit, representatives from Thailand, Spain, T\u00fcrkiye, and Korea shared their experiences in data collection. NXPO International Policy Partnership Director Dr. Pranpreya Sriwannawit Lundberg presented Thailand\u2019s data in the STIP Compass database and explained how NXPO utilizes the database for policy development and benchmarking with other countries. She also exchanged views on using the database to foster international cooperation during the Q&A session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to this webinar, Dr. Pranpreya participated in the EC-OECD STIP Compass workshop on data utilization, organized by the OECD and the European Commission on 4 July 2024. She joined a panel that included representatives from Greece, the European Commission, and the United Kingdom. Besides discussing Thailand\u2019s contribution and utilization of the STIP Compass database, Dr. Pranpreya shared her views on best practices and challenges in using the database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
